Eclipse had twin does today! Mom wanted her to wait until my birthday, but instead, she became my first doe ever to kid on her due date! Mom has had several kid on their due dates, but most of mine go 1-7 days over.
She had a fast and textbook delivery, and they were up and eating quickly. Me thinks she'll be staying around for awhile. 😀
Pippa reminds me very much of baby Molly, with the same markings of a frosted cou blanc.
Bonita is a very neat looking belted, roan sundgau. She is much more solid built than her sister and bigger, but has a slight roman nose.
My rabbit, Mackenzie, who let her first kits freeze, and indirectly killed her second litter, was working on her third strike and was about to be culled. Knowing she couldn't push me anymore without dire consequences, she decided to have what I've been wanting for a long time-a solid black kit, or more correctly, THREE solid black kits, and two gray ones! She did everything right this time, and the babies are fat and happy, so she will be staying around for now. Her two strikes aren't erased, so if she does something stupid again, she's gone. The person we got a lot of our rabbits from told me that, in their experience, once a difficult rabbit gets it figure out, they are usually great moms.
Brittany's rabbit, Bugsy Bunny, also decided to be good this time, and gave birth to 9 babies in her nest box, instead of all over the floor like last time. One kit died, but the others are fat and healthy.
With the nicer weather here, I've been spending a lot of time in the gazebo with Jinger roaming around and checking in frequently. Our dogs don't run loose unattended, so we try to give them all the free time we can, while supervising them.
Sometimes Polly-Cat joins us and takes a snooze.
It's cute how similar of coloring Jinger and Polly have!-Valerie
