Update

So I finally got to do the vet job shadow and here is how it went.
I got there, and we went in the back to put the kittens in one of their cages. There was Pit Bull that had been nuetered the day before, 2 sick cats, and another cat recovering from a spay. The clinic is very new and only two people work there. The vet and her sister. They were still moving in and it was a wreck. Both of them told about 5 times to come back when things weren't so upside down.I assured them I would. The assistant and I got the place ready for the surgery while the vet was out on a farm call. Once she got back, she gave Snipp the anesthetic and went to take care of a couple of cats that had come in. The assistant let me get Snipp all ready. Have you ever had a knocked-out cat? He felt and looked exactly like he was dead.
Then he vet gave Callie the anesthetic before she nuetered Snipp. I'll keep the blood and guts out of this story, okay? When she was finished, she wrapped him up in a towel and put him in the cage. Then we took out Callie. Because the anesthetic is different, she was as stiff as a board with her legs straight out in front of her. She was still awake and freaked out-her heart was going like mad. She fell asleep soon after though. So the vet tied her to the table and began work. With the first incision, she said,"Are you scared of blood?" I said "No." She replies, "If you start feeling quesy we can find you a place to sit." Five seconds later, "Are you alright?"
"Yeah I'm fine."
"Well just holler if you start feeling faint."
......Which leads me to think maybe she had someone faint before. Needless to say, I watched the surgery without throwing up and fainting.  What surprised me was the fact that there wasn't ANY blood at ALL. I also found out that a cat's skin is way tougher than it looks.
After that, a cat came in to get claws trimmed, dewormer, and rabies shot. I held it for her. Then there was a dog with a sprained knee. I filled the prescription for the painkillers.

The Doctor then went on a farm call so I we didn't have much to do for the rest of the morning. UPS came so I helped un-package the items and measured out a few more pills. And washed the surgical instruments. It was fun but I found out that what I really want to be is a large animal vet.

Awhile ago, we was this here thing. I don't remember what it is called. Old train.

And I got to plow a little. It was fun but kind of scary.
                                                       Grandpa's Starfish Cactus.
And we made these here candy sleighs.
There is a variety of pullers for the things.
And Vilijami broke his horn part way off 2 weeks ago. He had to get a couple shots of LA-200. Either because the needle was too big or the fact that I am scared of needles, it was very hard to give him those shots.
Oh and we have 4 goats due to kid in the spring. Does anyone want kids? They'll make good milkers.

  1. Sounds like you had fun and they actually let you do some things! Does that goat only have one horn?

  2. Yes he's only got one horn. You'll have to ask Mom about that.
